Overweight Maine lawyer Burke accidentally kills
an old gypsy woman, so her even older father
puts a curse on him; he starts losing weight,
and can't stop. Though well made, with good
performances and astonishingly convincing makeup
by Greg Cannom, the leading characters are
unsympathetic and the situation unrelentingly
grim. From the novel by Stephen King (writing as
``Richard Bachman''), who has his usual cameo.
